I have nothing but praise for Marcia Butler. The full-scale renovations of my kitchen, bath and hallway were completed a couple of weeks ago and I could not be more delighted. This outcome is due to her artistry, organization, energy, responsiveness and overall dedication to her work. I have known Marcia as a colleague in the music profession for many years. My belief that her artistry and professionalism in music would carry over into her work as a designer proved to be completely true. The only issue I have now is that I enjoy being in my apartment so much; it is hard to leave home when I need to! I believe that any person wishing to do any renovations or redesign of his or her living space would be lucky to have the services of Marcia Butler. DB When my husband and I first talked about renovating our outdated and tiny galley kitchen, we didn't have any idea what would work for us. We knew that the kitchen was not meeting our needs, but was very important to us. We wanted it to be the center of our apartment. I asked Marcia to give us a few ideas about what to do. She came to our apartment to take a look and swept us away. Within a very short time she gave us wonderful ideas about how to expand the kitchen into a separate, much larger and beautiful room. BS One of the many things I appreciated about Marcia was her ability to discern what my taste was. Once we had decided on a basic color scheme, it was tremendous fun to meet to pick out fabrics and wallpaper. I felt as if the design process was a collaborative one; she would ask in general terms what I wanted and then would return with samples that fit those general terms. Inevitably, there was one sample that I considered to be perfect. Her enthusiasm for my home was contagious. I'm almost sorry I don't have another room to work on. Another area in which Marcia provided excellent communication was budget matters. I felt absolutely confident that I was being informed of every purchase before it was made and then was given an update as to where we were in terms of budget vs. expenditures. My apartment was finished earlier this month. When friends come by, they gasp at how lovely it is. I still gasp myself. JB We turned to Marcia, whose own home we had long admired for its elegance and attractive livability, and who has assisted in the renovation of the apartment of a friend of ours, to great acclaim. We are so glad we did. Marcia did an outstanding job for us, and created a highly functional and attractive living space that is a joy to occupy. In addition to providing the best of services, Marcia is a careful, conscientious, collegial and enthusiastic partner. She is not shy about stating her views but she also adapted well to our instructions and desires. She is a marvelous human being and friend. PS You will find Marcia a pleasure to work with. She is a creative designer who also knows how to negotiate well with contractors and sub-contractors. She is a true gem. SB Marcia is remarkable not only as an artist, but as a person. During the project she was always upbeat, eager to hear our ideas, encouraged us to ask questions, and all in all, a pure delight to work with. At every moment through the process Marcia gave us a sense of comfort and assurance that we were in good hands. Marcia is a remarkable gift to the design world and I truly appreciate the time and expertise she imparted to us to make our dream come true. ME You transformed my living room from a tired 80's leftover to a stunning up to date room. It is not only elegant, but also so comfortable to sit in. You blended everything in beautifully with my existing case furniture. We have had many compliments.
